There’s a post at SearchEngineWatch with some early data on Microsoft’s Bing search portal in the local search space.
It’s very early, but after declining in local search shares the past two years, the early trend for Bing looks promising.
In this post Gregg Stewart includes the latest local search share numbers from Comscore comparing the top 5 search engines and compares Bing’s local results pages to Google and Yahoo.
If local search results are important to you take a look at Bing’s unique features including:
Ratings and reviews from other sources (such as CitySearch, Yelp)
A User Review Scorecard that summarizes the reviews
Links to nearby services and features (like where to get coffee after your pizza)
A bird’s view photograph (One that actually looks useful for helping to locate a place),
To update a listing look for the “change your business listing” link near the bottomm right side of the page
