Every company can hire a bad employee that does not follow policy. The BBB is no diffrent. this was an isolated incident and only happened in one BBB out of over 120 around the nation. the media is going to sensationalize the issue and make it out to be a larger problem than it was. The BBB does not give celebrities like Wolfgang puck special treatment .
Notice the media failed to give the customers perspective who filed the complaints.
That type of fairness does not get ratings !!

Yes, I’ve seen reports like this too. In fact the BBB has called us off and on for years to try to sell us on being accredited and I’ve always thought, “I’m going to pay you to provide additional info about us?”

But then I saw the marketing benefits I talk about in the article for a couple of clients.

So I guess it comes down to a business deciding if it’s worth paying to be accredited in order to possibly see some of the same benefits for their business.

I am not so sure the better business bureau is such a good idea anymore. They used to have credibility, but I don’t think they have it now.

They once based their rating system on a companies performance, and customer handling, but they now base it on who can pay, and excellent ratings are reserved for the highest bidder.
